These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the website villagebookshop.online. The website is maintained by LIVRARIA DA VILA LTDA as an informational point of contact for our small village bookshop on Avenida Roque Petroni Junior, in São Paulo. By using the website, you agree to these Terms.
1. Purpose of the website
The website presents information about the shop, what we stock, the events held in the back room, our opening hours, and how to get in touch. It is informational and does not currently process online payments. Purchases and event bookings are transacted in-store at the address listed above.
2. Product and service information
We do our best to keep the information on this website accurate. Stock availability, prices, event dates, and any lead times shown or discussed by email may change without notice and are only firm once confirmed at the counter. Photographs and product descriptions used online are illustrative.
3. Special orders and event bookings
Special book orders and RSVPs for events held in the back room are handled at the counter and confirmed in writing or by phone. Payment terms and expected delivery windows for special orders are agreed at the time of the order. Cultural events at the shop are, as a rule, free and open to the public, and any booking is used only to plan the room.
4. Second-hand books and trade-in credit
We accept used books in good condition for shop credit at the counter. The terms of each trade-in, including the credit amount and the period during which it can be used, are agreed at the time of the trade-in and recorded on a simple paper receipt.
5. Consumer rights
All transactions between the shop and consumers are governed by Brazilian consumer protection law, including the Consumer Defence Code (Federal Law 8.078/1990). Exchanges, returns, and warranty coverage on goods sold at the shop follow the applicable rules, and any complaint may be raised in person at the counter or by contacting us at the details below.
6. Intellectual property
The layout of this website, its text, images, and other original content are the property of LIVRARIA DA VILA LTDA or are used with permission. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use this content for commercial purposes without prior written consent. Books, records, and other titled works stocked or ordered at the shop remain the property of their respective authors, publishers, and rights holders.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the website to send unlawful, threatening, or abusive content, to interfere with its normal operation, or to attempt to access data or areas not intended for public use.
